After a rainy Saturday, the sun shone on Sunday for visitors to a garden Southwater and two in Tower Hill. The proceeds will be split equally between the Trust and the horticultaral society.

Derek Golledge, of Butlers Cottage, Tower Hill, said: “The rain ruined the electrics for four water features. We had to get that sorted on Sunday morning.

Sunday’s were the first in a series of open gardens for charity.

Secretary of the society Nancy Brock said: “We have a variety of gardens. Ours is pretty rough and ready. It’s a lovely opportunity to pinch some ideas from other people about what to do with your garden.”

The horticultural society is hosting more events at the following locations from 2-5pm.
