Summer colour on show at Iden

IDEN Village Hall was alive with summer colour on Saturday when Iden and Playden Garden Society held their Flower and Produce Show.

Local gardeners still managed to produce a superb display featuring roses and sweet peas.

Carol Worwood swept the board winning the Ramus Challenge Cup for the most points in the show; the Peggy Spence Bowl for the best roses; the Osborne trophy for the best Pot Plant; the Fullerton trophy for Floral Art with Roses and the Bartell Trophy for most points in the Domestic Section.

The Rother Cup for the best exhibit in the show was won b Trish Evans. She also took the Ivy Say Cup for most points in the Sweet Pea Classes.

Janet Johnson won the Morrison Cup for most points in the Floral Art Classes.

The Garden Cup was won by Jenny Robinson for the best vegetables.

Anne Haward’s entries won her the Piper Memorial Prize.

The Autumn Show will be on September 29 and will be followed by the AGM.
