Spring festival will show Bognor's cultural links

A UNITED Nations of creativity will be on show in Bognor Regis on Saturday (April 21).

The town’s spring festival on Saturday will bring together performers and stall-holders from around Europe.

The free event will take place from 10am-4pm at the Regis Centre in Belmont Street. One of the organisers, Miranda Cormell, said: “The aim is to bring people together and to showcase the diverse talents and skills which people of different nationalities in the town possess.”

The festival is a bigger and better version of one held last autumn.

It will feature performances in the centre’s studio. Dance, drama and poetry will be performed by students of the Polish and Russian supplementary schools in the town.

2012’s X Factor contestant Miguel Garcia will also be singing songs of spring while Dancas e Canteres da Madeira will bring Portuguese music to life.

The Reunion Band will play traditional British folk music. Members of the Bognor Regis School of Music will perform a classical hour. Works by two photographers and six artists will also be show. Food and crafts from different countries will be available from 15 stalls.

The festival is being staged by A Cross Cultural Organisation Recognising Diversity (Accord) with Voluntary Action Arun and Chichester.
