Special ceremony offers a chance to remember loved ones

A poignant and moving ceremony will be held at 6pm on Sunday, December 9, at Chichester Cathedral.

The Light up a Life service with St Wilfrid’s Hospice is a service of readings and traditional carols in the cathedral.

During the ceremony tribute will be paid to all of St Wilfrid’s patients and families over the years – people, families and friends who have experienced the kindness, support and specialist end of life care that the staff and volunteers at the hospice uniquely provide.

The service is free and all are welcome to attend. There will be a chance to remember loved ones by placing dedication cards beneath the Christmas tree.

A spokesperson for St Wilfrid’s Hospice added: “For the first time this year we would also like to invite you to St Wilfrid’s Hospice to pay a personal tribute to a loved one.

“Decorations will be available for you to pick up from our reception to hang on our Christmas tree in the Hospice gardens. You are welcome any time between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday throughout December.

“Please do join us for what promises to be a very special event.”
