Rustington care centre creates jobs

THREE new jobs have been created with the opening of a care centre at Rustington by Littlehampton-based Fittleworth Medical Ltd.

Rustington Parish Council chairman Andy Cooper performed the opening ceremony, cutting a ribbon at the care centre on the Brookside Industrial Estate.

The occasion was celebrated with an open day at the centre, which has replaced similar premises at Ford, and offers more room for expansion.

Customers and other visitors were able to take a tour of the centre and meet the nurse for a confidential discussion.

Fittleworth Medical, established in 1984, has grown rapidly in the past five years, and now has a network of 32 care centres, like Rustington’s, around the UK, while the number of employees has risen by 51 to 200 since 2009.

The company’s nationwide service supplies medical products directly to customers’ homes. The range includes continence, stoma and wound care products, and Fittleworth also employs a continence nurse in the community.

Fittleworth staff work with medical professionals to ensure the correct medical devices are prescribed.
