Rose Green woman's skydive in memory of granddad

A Rose Green woman took to the sky in memory of her late grandfather.

Charlie Marle completed her first skydive to raise just more than 400 for St Wilfrid's Hospice.

Her granddad, Charles Marle, was treated there before his death about ten years ago.

She said: "The hospice does very good work with its patients. I also like the things they do to raise money."

Hairdresser Charlie, 23, of Ross Close, took part in a tandem skydive with the Red Devils parachute display team from the army.

She jumped out of a plane from 13,000ft above Netheravon airfield near Salisbury with her skydiving partner.

"It was breathtaking once I got out of the plane. It was amazing to see the countryside from that high up," she said.

"I was pretty nervous when I got on board the plane and, when they open the door at the back, it really dawns on you what you are doing.

"We freefalled for about 45 seconds before my partner pulled the parachute."
