Tomorrow morning between 10-12 at Robertsbridge Hall Station Road the Patient Participation Group for Oldwood Surgery is holding a health education morning in conjunction with South East Coast Ambulance Service.

This is to display the new Community Defibrillators that are being donated to Robertsbridge and Salehurst by SECAMB and to show people how they work and how you can save a life. The Defibrillator demonstration will be from 10 – 11. There will be a short presentation explaining what the Patient Participation Group is all about during the morning. Refreshments will also be available throughout the morning. If you want to know more please come along, it will be a very relaxed and informal event and everyone is welcome.

Robertsbridge Aviation Society will be holding a Coffee morning at Bush Barn, Robertsbridge TN32 5PA on Saturday 21st April between 10am – 1pm. There will also be bric-a-brac, books and a raffle. The museum will be open with light refreshments available as well. Entrance is free but donations are always gratefully received and go to the upkeep of the museum.

The evening of Saturday 21st at Robertsbridge Hall is the next film show being presented by Robertsbridge Community Association. The film showing this month is One Day, which is a PG. Tickets are available from Sandie at the Floral Boutique or on the door and they cost £4. Refreshments are available and there is also a licensed bar. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start; please take a cushion for your comfort.

Robertsbridge Club is open this Sunday 22nd April for Sunday lunch. This is available from 1pm – 3pm with main course just £6.75 with an extra £1.50 if you would like a dessert. To book and check availability please ring 01580 880673

Sunday 22nd April Robertsbridge Aviation Society will be having some vehicles from Bexhill 100 Classic Cars visiting the museum site between 2pm – 4.30pm the museum will be open and refreshments will be available. Entrance is free but donations are very welcome. Monday 23rd April is the next date for PCSO Tina Grevett to be in the High Street for her monthly Surgery. She will be there at 11am unless she is called away to a major incident. If you have any community issues you would like to discuss with her she will be pleased to see you.

A couple of events coming up for Robertsbridge Bonfire Society fundraising are the Rock`n`Roll Dance at Robertsbridge Community College on Saturday 28th April. Tickets are available from Sandie at the Floral Boutique or by ring Nancy or Pete on 01580 880468. They cost £10 in advance or £12 on the door. For information or availability please also ring Nancy or Pete on the same number. Half the proceeds will go to Robertsbridge Bonfire Society and half will go to Rye.

The next event after that is Monk Fest 2 at Robertsbridge Club on Saturday 5th May between 8pm – 12 midnight. This is a Drum and Bass Night and was very popular earlier in the year. There will be sets by Swifty & Lil Lively, Orible Noize, Krazy-K & Killadee and Johnboi Junglist & MC Bait. Entrance is only £3 for club members and £5 for non- members, and profit will go to Robertsbridge Bonfire Society.

Robertsbridge Guides, Brownies and Rainbows will be holding their Jumble Sale on Saturday 12th M at 10am – 12pm. This will be held in the Church Hall in Fair Lane, Robertsbridge. The support that is given is always very welcome and they hope for your continued support this year. If you have any jumble, clothes, bric-a-brac, books, toys or anything that can be sold that you would like to donate please ring either Jane on 01580 880619 or Jo on 01580 880872 and they will be only too pleased to come and collect it.

The village Jubilympics is fast approaching. This is what the Robertsbridge Summer Events Committee is organising for the celebrations this year of the Jubilee and the Olympics. The main event is to be held on the Recreation Ground on Monday 4th June and is a free event. It is to be preceded by a procession down the High Street, which will be decorated for the occasion. On the Olympic Theme there is to be a Sedan Chair Race with teams of 5, who will select a country they will represent and their chair for the race will be designed and built appropriately for that country. There will be events throughout the afternoon, which will be based on Olympic Sports, including cycling. All the events will have a twist to make them fun for all ages. Medals will be awarded at the end of the event.

Village organisations and the schools have been invited to set up stalls, and plans are afoot to create a display showing how Robertsbridge has celebrated the Queen in the past. There will be refreshments available throughout the day, including the very popular Pimms Tent.

During the evening there will be live music and visitors are invited to bring a picnic and celebrate their own Medal wins with family and friends as well as celebrate the Jubilee.

This is the 3rd village wide event that has been created by the Summer Events Committee since it was set up in 2009.

A Horse Hoof Protector was found in the High Street on Monday morning, if you have lost one please pop into Sandie at the Floral Boutique because she is looking after it.

Football The second team will have to wait until probably next week to find out if they are relegated because it all rests on the final match between Parkfield and Herstmonceux II. Fund-raising dates for your diary:- Saturday 12th May 2012 is a ‘Gamesday’ starting at the Recreation Ground at 10.30a.m. and then at Robertsbridge Club for a Darts, Pool and Kurling competition in the afternoon and then in the evening a Disco from 8p.m. Members £2 Guests £3.

Ladies Darts: On Monday[23rd] is the Pairs Knockout Cup with Jackie, Carol, Eileen and Steph at Ticehurst Club.

Stoolball: Training is every Tuesday commencing at 6.30p.m. at the Cricket Ground and anybody is welcome to attend. Next fund-raising event is a Quiz Night at Robertsbridge Club on Saturday 28th April 2012 starting at 7.30p.m. Teams of 5 players @ £2 each with prizes for the winning team in each round. Friday Darts: Richard Hawthorne and Michael Stone have reached the final of the Mens Darts Pairs to be played on finals night at Robertsbridge Club on Friday 27th April 2012.
