£10,000 reward to nail the monster

POLICE are offering a £10,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the "monster" who tried to abduct an eight year-old girl.

This week Detective Inspector Trevor Bowles, the head of Rother CID who is leading the hunt, released an artist's impression of the man who grabbed the schoolgirl round the neck and lifted her off the ground as she played in quiet Woodsgate Avenue on the evening of Sunday, May 18. The offender ran off when the victim's friend screamed.

The victim, who has been praised by police for her courage, has been assisting a police artist in creating this impression of the man who attacked her.

D.I. Bowles said: "I am able to confirm that Sussex Police are offering a substantial reward for evidence which leads to the arrest and conviction of this attacker."
