Pool fall '“ man hurt

A male worker suffered a twisted ankle when he slipped during the cleaning of a pool in Butlins in Bognor Regis.

The employee was scrubbing down the spaceball attraction in the pool when he fell off his ladder. He landed within the spaceball '“ which is shaped like a giant cup '“ but his injury meant he was unable to climb back up the ladder.

His colleagues called firefighters to remove him from the pool, which was also being cleaned and was being drained of water.

The fire crews land ambulance paramedics lifted the man from the pool on a spinal board using a systems of lines and ladders.

The incident happened at 12.15pm last Friday.

The worker was back in his job on Tuesday.
