Neighbourhood councils object to proposed Horsham Park high ropes course

Both Denne and Forest neighbourhood councils have objected to plans for a new high ropes course in Horsham Park.

Horsham District Council’s Development Control North Committee will debate the application, submitted by DC Leisure, next Tuesday August 6.

The proposed ten metre-high course, which is planned to sit within the boundary of Pavilions in the Park leisure centre, would include aerial walkways with obstacles, a climbing tower, and ground-based equipment.

The facility would be accessed from the leisure centre.

HDC’s officers have recommended approval but the two neighbourhood councils have objected on grounds of the damage it will do to the visual impact of the park, and insufficient parking.
