A major Worthing town centre car park has switched to pay and display in a move that could catch out unsuspecting drivers.

Worthing Borough Council has taken ownership of the Montague Centre car park in Liverpool Gardens, after many years of it being run by NSP and CP Plus.

The council has reminded drivers they will now have to pay for their stay on arrival, rather than at the end as has previously been the case.

There will be no changes to tariffs at the 120-space car park, according to the council, which will remain operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
