Police remain ‘very concerned’ for welfare of missing Bramber man
Police remain ‘very concerned’ for the welfare of a pensioner from Bramber who was reported missing more than four weeks ago.
75-year-old Michael Mauger went missing on July 1.
Police said he was last seen in Bramber village by a friend on Saturday, June 27.
They added a man fitting his description was later spotted at 6am in Bostal Road, Steyning, on July 2.
A blue Tesco bag thought to belong to Mr Mauger was discovered in Upper Beeding a fortnight ago which sparked a full scale search of the area.
Around 30 members of Sussex Search and Rescue (SusSAR) along with two teams of lowland rescue dogs, police and West Sussex Fire and Rescue officers were involved in the search but no more information was obtained.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “We remain very concerned for Michael.
“It has now been four weeks since he was reported missing and we do not know where he is or where he has been.
“We are still appealing for witnesses who may have seen him and for people to keep an eye out for him.”
He is described as white, 5’ 9” and of medium build with short white hair and a ruddy complexion. It is not known what he was last seen wearing, but he usually wears a floppy sun hat.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact [email protected] or call 101 quoting serial 914 of 01/07. If Mr Mauger appears to be in danger or needs urgent medical attention please call 999 immediately.
