The group raised £463 for charity after setting up a Facebook page and taking part in the Petworth Virtual Christmas Market.

Group members make items out of mostly unwanted, previously used or natural materials and sell them at local events to raise money for local charities.

The cancellation of the Petworth Christmas Market was a blow for the group – the 2019 event boosted PCCG funds significantly and they raised £2,519.66 for the Sylvia Beaufoy Youth Centre in total that year – so a more achievable fundraising target of £500 was set for 2020.

Tricia Stephens said: “We had to set about finding other ways of selling our makes if we were to reach our target.

“‘Have a rest and we will start again in the spring,’ said the group but, not keen to be beaten, eventually we set up a Facebook page.

“We had at last entered the 21st century but would selling on Facebook work?

“We signed up to Petworth Virtual Christmas Market and in three weeks we took £213 from the sale of mostly felt Christmas tree decorations.

“Definitely worthwhile, so please check out our Facebook and website for Easter goodies.”

Tricia said: “Sponsorship received from local businesses for 2021 running costs was £270, but we are still likely to need extra sponsorship to see us to the end of the year.”
