Littlehampton's Screen on the Green set to go ahead: vote for which film you want to see

Organised by Littlehampton Town Council, the free outdoor cinema screening will return to East Green on Saturday, August 15 - coronavirus measures permitting.

The options this year include the live-action re-boot of Disney's Aladdin in 2019, the 2019 film adaptation of the Cats musical, and retro classic Back to the Future, released in 1985.

Thousands descended onto West Green last year to see Hairspray, which was played through a giant 40ft inflatable screen and sound system. The same set-up is planned for this year's event.

Councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper said: “I am delighted that Screen on the Green is back for its seventh year and that we can give the public the opportunity to vote for the movies to be shown at this fabulous event. We have put forward a variety of films to appeal to as many of you as possible. Please make sure you cast your vote by Wednesday 15th April.”

The films with the most votes will be revealed on the Visit Littlehampton Facebook page.

Due to the current coronavirus outbreak, many town events have been cancelled.

In response to this, the town council said it was 'continually monitoring' the evolving pandemic and Government advice about events.

It said: "The safety of the public, our contractors and staff are paramount and therefore plans to host the event may change nearer the time. Members of the public are advised to follow NHS advice and seek information from legitimate sources such as gov.uk/coronavirus."
