The college took part in a fundraising initiative with Chichester Festival Theatre which saw the theatre raise £90,000 for Young Carers Connect – providing 300 West Sussex young carers with vital IT equipment and a programme of arts activities.

All schools in Sussex were offered to apply on behalf of any young carers within their school community who they thought would benefit from having their own IT equipment at home.

The laptops have been equipped with the programmes needed to work from home and carry out homework/online work and distributed to selected students.

Head teacher Mark Anstiss said: ”We collaborate with the Festival Theatre on a number of initiatives and workshops and this was excellent to be able to put some of our students forward for this. They have all been thrilled.

“Thank you to the theatre and also to West Sussex Young Carers Services.”
