West Pier, Brighton: a phantom dog is said to roam the beach, following walkers before vanishing into thin air. And a Victorian figure has been seen on the promenade before disappearing into the mist.

Clayton Tunnel: 23 people died in the Clayton Tunnel rail crash, which took place in 1861, five miles from Brighton. It is said cries and the sound of the crash can still be heard.

Newhaven Fort: the sound of clanking chains, ghostly figures and floating orbs have been reported at this historic fort.

A ghostly apparition was captured on CCTV at The Dolphin pub in Littlehampton. The watering hole in the High Street dates back to 1735, and is believed to be one of the most haunted buildings in the country.
