Tanbridge House School teams up with Tesco

Thanks to a generous donation of £500 from Tesco Broadbridge Heath, students now have the opportunity to get involved in this exciting challenge, working alongside mentors from the company.

Delivered across an academic year, the team taking part develop a company and make all the decisions about it, from raising the initial share capital through to designing their product or service to selling directly to customers and ultimately winding up the company and paying their taxes. All this takes place with the support of a Business Adviser who brings a wealth of business knowledge and expertise to the team.

The team have manged to secure sponsorship from Tesco Broadbridge Heath to participate in this year’s programme. Tesco Store Manager, Lee Laflain and Customer Experience Manager, LouiseAnn Sharman visited Tanbridge to present the cheque.

Gerald Featherstone, Leader of Teaching & Learning: ICT, who is co-ordinating the Young Enterprise challenge for Tanbridge, said: “Tanbridge House runs a number of business and enterprise activities each year, for a variety of students. However we are thrilled to be working with Tesco on the Young Enterprise Company Challenge and are hugely grateful for their financial support as well as the time and expertise that they will giving up to help our students. It should be a great challenge.”

Lee Laflain, Store Manager, said: “I am delighted that we are able to support such a great project. We have been fortunate to spend some time with the students studying business and that experience alone was very humbling, so the opportunity to help with young enterprise is brilliant.”
