School repairs take precedence

AFTER reading Mrs Drury's letter in the Shoreham Herald regarding King's Manor Community College, it made me want to put pen to paper, as a former pupil.

I am also a mother of children who have attended, have a son who is still there and have worked there.

I also have my concerns about West Sussex County Council trying to turn this school into an academy, when there is desperate need for urgent repairs to the school.

What will it take, apart from it being changed into an academy, to get the repairs done?

A life of one of our children or staff seriously injured?

I personally think that our children and the staff's safety should come first.

If they have the money to turn it into an academy, then they have the funds to do the repairs.

And what will happen to the staff if they are not religious? Bye bye, I think.
