Pre-supposition?

IT is not widely known, but England was created by human beings, who were the ancestors of some of us.

Yet today, it appears, automatons have taken over.

Of all mathematical and egalitarian absurdities, not only MPs but local councillors must have constituencies with equal numbers of electors.

This presupposes that villages, towns, and local communities are of no significance, and only Great Britain matters.

The areas covered by some constituencies beggar belief. But we do now have a fashion for village and town surveys, as obvious democracy.

The only problem is that the questions seem to have been devised by the tourist board and chamber of commerce, not by real people.

As well as asking the public how to bring in more people and build more houses and shops, and open up the coast to tourists and traffic, balance it by asking if the south coast should not become a regulation-planned conurbation, overwhelmed by traffic, and should have less tourism with quiet villages and beaches – and even some vestige of countryside below the South Downs honeypot.
