Pilot checks in again at library
TO answer your correspondent Jill Cowles, the county council decided to cease buying the majority of leisure and recreational magazines held in West Sussex libraries, until the end of March, 2008.
West Sussex County Council provides the library service and it has been well publicised that savings are being made not only here, but across all departments. Costs everywhere are rising (including those of magazines) and budgets are not being raised similarly.
Since August, 2007, we have collected feedback on which titles library users would like to see restored in the new budget year and this information will be used to help plan the reintroduction of a range of the most popular magazines from April.

Hide AdI can confirm that the Pilot magazine to which Ms Cowles refers is due to return to the shelves in Shoreham library from April.
