Overcome by act of kindness in Polegate supermarket

Someone touched my heart this morning (Wednesday December 30).

At Lidl (Dittons Road, Polegate) checkout I realised I had left my card at home and, unable to pay, told the cashier I would put back my groceries.

A gentleman behind me stepped in, told the cashier that he would settle my bill for me.

I cannot describe how emotional I felt : this unknown gentleman wouldn’t allow me to leave my shopping and I left the store in tears, totally bowled over by his kindness.
