Now, you listen

I WAS very interested to read the report on the proposed boundary changes for Arun District Council.

I largely agreeing with Norman Dingemans’ opinion that it would be preferable for each ward to have one representative, rather than larger wards shared between two or three councillors.

However it is surely more than a little ironic that he should complain that “the commission hasn’t listened to us at all and is simply ploughing through with its own idea”.

Can we assume that our councillors now understand the feelings of so many constituents in Littlehampton and surrounding areas who have been pleading with them to drop their plans to close both the swimming centre and the Windmill cinema and instead continue to give financial support to both much-loved facilities?

I hope that even at this late stage, the councillors will listen to the voice of the people instead of ploughing through with their own idea!
