Money men seem to have no shame

People genuinely wanting to buy a house for their own occupation are unable to obtain a mortgage, unless at a crippling rate, because the banks are busily clawing back their losses.

Meanwhile, billionaires, bankers and financial institutions seem to have no shame.

Inadequate investigation of parceled-up sub-prime loans, many short-term decisions, mistakes and poor judgements have been made, and yet huge bonuses and salaries are paid, with threats to go elsewhere if these demands are not met.

These people also benefit from generous severance pay, huge retirement funds and continued purchase of expensive properties and yachts, legal tax evasion and membership of secret societies.

Guess where the biggest sacrifices have to be made?

Of course, the poorest and those hard-working people at the bottom of the heap who actually keep this country ticking over in its civilised way.

No, I'm not jealous, but when I hear an extremely highly-paid executive, when challenged about the current situation, using the weasel words "the experience has been chastening", it makes me very angry.

Isn't it time we had decision-makers who live in the real world, and not just career politicians living in the Westminster village?

Still, one bit of good news for Littlehampton '“ the excellent undercover provision for cycles at the railway station.
