Marathon run for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust in memory of nephew

An uncle has chosen to support the Dame Vera Lynn Trust in memory of his nephew who attended the School for Parents by running his fourth marathon.

Stephen Pond, inspired by his nephew, Aidan, who sadly passed away in March 2014, aged 19 months, completed the Stockholm Marathon on Saturday May 31 achieving a personal best (by almost 11 minutes!) and raising an incredible £3,777!

Following the marathon Stephen said: “I’m very pleased and to top it all, the fundraising is still going up!”

Nikki Cannon, regional fundraiser for the Dame Vera Lynn Trust, added: “Stephen is inspirational and we cannot thank him and the whole family enough for thinking of us at this difficult time.”
