It'd be madness to downgrade

THE other day, my dear wife, who is 86 and has dementia, was taken to the accident and emergency department at Worthing Hospital, having suffered two serious angina attacks.

We were there about three hours and, during that time, I had first-hand experience of the pressure under which the doctors and nurses work, yet all seem to exude a calmness and professional expertise which defies description.

This letter is not only to offer my sincere thanks and highest praise for the care and attention she received, not to mention some most helpful advice given, but also to make the point that anyone, of whatever position, who even thinks remotely of downgrading Worthing Hospital or any other hospital, for that matter, must be out of his or her mind.
