Heartwarming

IT was heartwarming to read about how the Littlehampton community pulled together to help those devastated by last Monday’s flooding.

I think all those at the Littlehampton Flood Relief Group should be very proud of their efforts.

The town should unite behind them.

I know that Tesco, Currys and several other businesses in the area have already shown their support and donated food and electrical goods.

Now, I’m calling on more local businesses to open up their hearts and help the relief effort.

There are so many people in South Terrace who have been hit by the flooding – many of whom don’t have any content insurance.

We can debate the rights and wrongs of not having insurance later.

The fact of the matter is that there are families, living in a difficult situation, that need our support – not our scorn.

I think the fact that the Government isn’t willing to dip into its funding to help those affected is disgraceful. Arun District Council is having a difficult enough time with funding at the moment as it is.

So, let’s unite and show them what the Littlehampton community can do!
