Member June Phillips said: “It was a fantastic afternoon and we would like to thank everyone who came along.

“We could not have achieved such success without the support and generosity of the West Chiltington Cricket Club, the cake bakers, and the very generous donations.

“We would love to recruit some more volunteers to join our group and for our collections and events. Even if you can only spare an hour here and there we would be very pleased to hear from you.”

Further events ahead this year include the Ashington Festival in August, the Pulborough Harvest fair in September and the Steyning fair in November.

The group also does regular supermarket collections.
