Council should feel proud to fly flag

The Royal wedding was certainly such an occasion, as indeed are many other special days throughout the year.

It seems quite extraordinary that for such a simple action, those concerned were “waiting for the okay from Department of Culture Media and Sport” as quoted in your paragraph on the subject.

Has our town council got no teeth at all? Else why are they there? This would have been a very simple decision to make, even allowing for heavy roof doors.

In most European countries, and certainly in America, their Town Halls display the national flag DAILY as a matter of course.

Please let us be bold and fly our National flag proudly.
