The children studied a variety of kinds of transport including riding on a penny farthing and sitting on an old-fashioned London bus.

They also saw more modern vehicles and were able to sit on board Concorde and take the driver’s seat in a Formula 1 car.

Esme from Year 1 said ,”I loved it on Concorde when I sat at the front near the window. I was a passenger. My favourite bit was in the room with the big aeroplanes.”

Vicky Dedman, Key Stage 1 leader commented, “Experiences like this enthuse the children especially when they can actually sit on board and drive. I know their work in class will be enhanced by this trip.”

The children will now use this visit to help them draw and write about their topic for the term.
