Olivia's peace poster poem in national final

A PEACE poster including a poem written by a St Richard's Catholic College pupil may go on to spread a national and international message.

Olivia Burke won the Lions Club poster/poem competition, themed Create a Brighter Tomorrow.

At the presentation of college certificates this week, Olivia learnt she had also won the South East Regional Final.

Her poster, which showed figures of all races, shapes and sizes, has now gone forward to the national final and Olivia is in with a chance of winning the international final in the New Year.

Bexhill Lions Club members presented Olivia with a portable desk easel at assembly, as well as prizes for second and third place and runners up.

Olivia's poem:

Create a brighter tomorrow

No hatred, anger or greed,

A harmonious world we need.

Let's work to end all sorrow

And create a brighter tomorrow.
