North Bersted play area boost

Bersted parish councillors agreed to the money being spent improving the site next to the Jubilee Hall off Chalcraft Lane.

Of the cash, 15,000 has come from developers who built houses in two nearby locations. It has been paid to Arun District Council as a condition of planning permission.

The parish councillors will add 4,000 of their council's cash to ensure more work can be done.

A detailed decision about how to spend the money will be made by the hall's management committee.

Approval of the play area is subject to confirmation at the next meeting of the joint western Arun area meeting of various councils in July.
