NINFIELD U18S FOOTBALL: Ninfield’s U18 Football team held their own last Sunday against Tonbridge Invicta, drawing 0-0. Kevin Regan, the Club’s Press Officer was very upbeat of their performance, “A draw was probably a fair result, with Tonbridge being the better for the first half and us dominating the last 45 minutes. Our passing game looked good and we can be pleased with that but we just didn’t create scoring options in attack and kept moving the ball inside into trouble. A few chances came our way which sadly we couldn’t put away. We also got let off, not picking up attackers which gifted Tonbridge a few opportunities. There are many positives to take from this game with a hard fought point and another clean sheet. Man Of The Match goes to Tom Loake for some brilliant defending all game and cut out all the danger down his wing. Two games, four points, seven goals and two clean sheets isn’t a bad start but let’s push home all we’ve learned and put Tunbridge Wells Youth Ridgeway to the sword next weekend! You now know you have the ability to absorb attacks and make chances yourselves. You just need the confidence in yourselves to put it all together in the future.”

October 18, home against Tunbridge Wells Foresters Spitfires at Ninfield Recreation Ground, 10.30 a.m. KO. November 1, away to Cranbrook Town Juniors at Big Side, Cranbrook School, 10.30 a.m. KO.

HOOE PARISH COUNCIL: Hooe Parish Council will next meet on the evening of Monday, September 21 at the Hooe Village Hall commencing at 7.30 p.m. All residents are invited to attend.

MESSY CHURCH: Their next Messy Church will be on Wednesday, September 30, at 3.30 p.m. (straight after school).

NINFIELD PARISH COUNCIL: Ninfield Parish Council will next meet on October 1, 7.15 p.m. at the Methodist Church. All residents are invited to attend.

NINFIELD FLOWER GROUP: Ninfield Flower Group would like to thank everyone who went to their Flower Festival. Details of how much they made for their three charities will be given in the next issue of the Parish News. However, congratulations go to Eileen Parnaby in winning the Peoples Choice award with her arrangement of the Great British Bake Off, 2nd was Joyce Pannel with Bill and Ben Flowerpot Men and 3rd was Stuart Wood with Call the Midwife.

On Monday, October 5, the group meet in the Memorial Hall where they will welcome “Patricia Ellis with her demonstration entitled “Simple Pleasures.” Non- members are welcome at a charge of £4.00 which includes refreshments. All flowers demonstrated will be raffled at the end of the evening. JUMBLE SALE: Ninfield Flower Group are holding a Jumble Sale on October 10, at Ninfield Memorial Hall, 2 p.m. An entrance fee of 50p will get you into lots of bargains, refreshments and more. Anyone who is unable to attend but would like to kindly donate, please contact Jennifer Collett on 01424 892878.

CHRISTIAN VOICES PERFORMANCE: Christian Voices, the Musical Drama Group, will be performing their next play in October. It is called “The Runaway Slave” and is based on the Bible Story from the New Testament of Paul, Onesimus and Philemon. The play was written by Alan Young and the songs composed by Dave Chamberlin. Christian Voices will be performing at Ninfield Methodist Church Hall on Saturday, October 10, at 3 p.m. As usual, the admission is free and all are very welcome to attend.

HOME MADE FAYRE: Ninfield Village Memorial Hall are running their Home Made Fayre again this year on Saturday, October 17. They already have 12 tables booked, but are always looking for more. If you make anything and would be interested in booking a table, please contact Kaye Crittell 01424 892883 or [email protected]. Cost for a 6ft table is £10 if you live in Ninfield, £12 if outside the village. All funds to go to the upkeep of the hall.

SEASONAL FLOWER DEMONSTRATION: Ninfield Flower Group’s seasonal demonstration this year will be held in the Memorial Hall on Friday, November 2. They shall be welcoming the very talented Nigel Whyles, with his demonstration entitled “Deck the Halls.” Tickets will be £10.00 are now available now for booking. NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: Their next meeting is on Tuesday, November 24 in the Reading Room at 7.30 p.m., do please put it in your diary and go. Ted Kemp, leader of Rother Neighbourhood Watch, will come and show his video of SCAMS. This should be very informative as it is so easy to get caught out.
