Music for missing Madeleine McCann

A Bexhill family have created a song to keep the search for missing toddler Madeleine McCann in the public consciousness.

Raj Cahn was so moved by the plight of the McCann family he decided to pen the piece which has been recorded with his daughter Lauren on vocals and son Luke playing guitar.

'Bring Her Home' has been posted on internet video site YouTube, where it has received over 2,800 hits within the first five days.

Madeleine went missing from her family's holiday apartment in Portugal at the beginning of the month.

Her disappearance has sparked a worldwide search and widespread media interest.

Raj said of the song: "It is not one that comes from inspiration but rather from a reaction or response to dreadful things that happen in life. Some people who get bad news can go and have a drink to calm themselves down, others can go to a gym and work it out of their system. I, however, have to get a pen and paper and lock myself away with a guitar and write about it.

"This song was the result of the build up of deep sadness for Madeleine's family in me and the frustration that something like this could happen. I wrote it in a matter minutes but the build up to it was over a few days.

"Lauren, Luke and indeed our whole family, having been shocked by Maddie's disappearance wanted to try and do something positive about it."

Having heard the track Lauren, a keen singer, and Luke, who records music on his home computer, decided they wanted the song to be their contribution in assisting the search.

Raj added: "We understand that it has been included on websites across the world and a local writer who is a member of an organisation called Helium in the USA, got it put on their website where people who were not already aware of what had happened began to spread the news of this terrible atrocity. Through them we understand that it is going across the world through school and education links.

"Lauren and Luke are very grateful for all the support that they have received from their friends and the public in this endeavour."
