Mr Gay England vying for European crown
Matt Rood won the Mr Gay England competition earlier this year, and will now be looking to take the European crown. With 12 countries competing, and eight challenges to complete over six days next week, there’s a long way to go.
Matt said: “I’m so honoured representing England at Mr Gay Europe, I’m so hungry for this as I’m so passionate about spreading my positive message throughout Europe raising awareness of countries that don’t have the same LGBT rights that we do enjoy here in UK.”

He said: “The reason I set up my Pride Families campaign is because I was a married man of 10 years and fostered children for around three years. So being an experienced foster carer and the knowledge of the adoption/fostering system I set up Pride Families.”
Matt has also been visiting schools in the area to talk about LGBT issues, and has organised a camping event for LGBT parents and foster carers 'to create a sense of belonging for families'.
