MP WELCOMES FLOOD INVESTIGATION

Lewes MP Norman Baker has welcomed news that Lewes is one of 15 towns and cities across England that will benefit from an investigation into urban drainage flooding.

Mr Baker MP said:

'I am delighted to see that Lewes is one of the towns and cities that will benefit from these pilot studies and I welcome the opportunity to look at the local situation in a rounded way.

'This just goes to show the value of putting continued pressure on the Government and I will continue to do this both in my capacity as a local MP and in my new position as Chair of the All Party Flood Prevention Group.

Today (Wednesday), I will be leading a delegation from Lewes for a meeting on the issue with the Minister for Climate Change, Ian Pearson MP."
