More than 100 attend jobs fair

The event came about after the Rye Partnership Rural Employability Project joined forces with Pontins management team to assist in recruiting local staff.

Rye Partnership staff and advisors were on hand to assist with applications and organising interviews for those who attended to apply for a job.

Rye Partnership Projects Administrator Tina Hall commented: “We had a great turn-out for the employment day.

General manager Phil Martin said: “We would like to thank everyone involved, for their support with the recruitment day. We had a great turnout and a high calibre of applicant.

“This has helped us immensely in recruiting a good quality of suitable local staff. We are proud to be associated with Rye Partnership, and the role they play in our staff recruitment is held in very high regard here”.

Amber Ablitt, of Pontins Camber Sands added “Pontins have been successfully providing fun-filled family stays for over 60 years and has recently been undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment, which is on-going and now offers an additional number of chalets and facilities for our guests; trampolining, go-karting, swimming and crazy golf to darts, snooker, pool and the skate park, we offer something new and exciting for all.

“ We also pride ourselves on our customer service and we feel that our staff are key to our success”.

There were a host of Job vacancies available, varying from Restaurant and Bar staff, to Service Support Officers and leisure staff.

The rural employability project continues to offer employers support with local recruitment and also offers work club services, and employment support at Tilling Green Community Centre.

The project, funded by the Department for Works and Pensions, works in close partnership with Jobcentre Plus and other local organisations, to improve the employment prospects for local people living in the rural area.
