Miles of delays for drivers on A24 caused by roadworks

Drivers are facing severe delays on the A24 this evening (Monday March 7) due to ongoing roadworks and a crash.

The works, which began last week and were due to take place over 11 weeks, are to improve the traffic lights at Buck Barn Crossroads.

However, motorists have been stuck in miles of traffic - going back to the Hop Oast Roundabout near Horsham on the southbound carriageway.

There has also been a collision southbound between Hop Oast Park And Ride Roundabout and the crossroads.

The photo above, taken by a commuter who works in Horsham, shows part of the congestion on the busy road, which has slowed traffic in both directions.
