Horsley, of Winchelsea Road, was arrested and later charged with production of cannabis and abstracting electricity.

Following sentencing Detective Constable Mike Pearson said: “This was a great result and we are pleased that the court’s sentencing reflects the nature of the offence. We do not tolerate crime of this nature and will continue to work hard to prevent this kind of significant drug activity operating in Rother.”

The sentencing comes at a time when Rye Neighbourhood Police Panel have earmarked drugs enforcement and youth engagement as a top priority in the town.

Part of the plan is to increase publicity appealing for information about drugs supply.

Anyone with information about drug-dealing or drug production is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk
