Man saw UFO 'chased by RAF fighters'

A Felpham couple have claimed that they not only saw an unidentifed flying object, but also the planes which were sent out to track it down.

Leo Lindsay, of Roundle Avenue, is convinced that he saw 'two round football-shaped objects' coming over the trees high in the sky from a

bedroom window last Thursday, October 4, at around 6pm.

"It was a very light beautiful blue sky with white puffy clouds and I thought it was very odd," said Mr Lindsay who immediately went downstairs to tell his wife, Rosie.

As he continued to investigate with the help of a pair of binoculars, the couple, he said, noticed the objects change to become "multi-faceted diamond shaped discs which moved further apart."

But that wasn't the end of the experience. Mr Lindsay said that about 10 minutes later as the objects moved away he noticed two 'fighter' planes in the sky.

"They went straight at it and were incredibly high," said Mr Lindsay who believes they were followed by another military plane later.

"I was intrigued because I like the idea of space but reported it to the police, who checked from 5pm and said that nobody else had reported anything strange."

The phenomenon, he said, was also witnessed by two aunts who were staying with the couple at the time. "We were utterly amazed."

A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: "If required, sighting reports are examined with the assistance of the department's air defence experts.

"Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting reported."
