Loyal readers take the Littlehampton Gazette into UK's top 10 weeklies

THE Littlehampton Gazette is in the top 10 most successful weekly newspapers in the country, new circulation figures have revealed.

In a challenging market, just 11 paid-for titles in the UK increased their sales or remained stable, including the Gazette, which achieved a similar figure, an average 9,891 copies per week for the first six months of this year, as it did in the first half of last year.

The Gazette was one of just six weeklies in England not to see their sales fall, and the only one in the whole of the south-east, according to data from industry body, the Audit Bureau of Circulation.

Editor Roger Green was delighted with the Gazette's success. He said: "We are very grateful to our readers for staying so loyal in these tough financial times, when hundreds of other local newspapers have seen their sales fall by several percentage points.

"It's also a tribute to everyone working so hard to make the Gazette your favourite weekly read, in editorial, online, our photographers, advertising staff and circulation colleagues, who all share in this success."
