Littlehampton pupils plant new tree

STUDENTS from The Littlehampton Academy were visited by Barratt Homes, who donated a loquat tree to the school and helped pupils to plant it in the grounds.

“As a division we have planted or retained 37,000 trees in the local area in the last year and it is wonderful that this tree planting is helping to create a legacy to be enjoyed by staff and pupils at the school for many years to come.

Ms Gentilli, Principal of The Littlehampton Academy, said: “The new tree is the perfect addition to our grounds and we are grateful to Barratt Homes for the kind donation.

“It was great to see the children so enthusiastic about planting a tree and we hope they will have fun watching it grow and thrive.”

Barratt Homes decided to hold the tree planting to support the local schoolchildren in marking National Tree Week, which takes place between November 28 and December 6. National Tree Week was founded to make Britain more tree conscious.
