Lancing student's college union role

THE new vice-president of Northbrook College's resurrected student union says she wants to re-ignite the love affair between Worthing's students and their town.

And the German fashion student openly supports the controversial plans for a merger with Worthing College, saying "it's obviously a very good thing to do".

Nathalie Holtz, 23, from Lancing, was elected in December alongside six others in the first student union elections at the college for three years.

"We have got big plans," said Nathalie.

"We want to make Worthing look more attractive to students and try to improve the image of students and their relationship with the public."

The union is planning charity events, sports events and a large summer music festival.

But top of the list is the launch of a magazine for the 8,000-plus students at Northbrook's sites across Sussex.

"The first issue will go to everyone free. It will say who we are and what we want to do, and it will give students somewhere to voice any problems," said Nathalie.
