Lancing residents win fight on blocks' removal

LANCING residents have won their long battle against a parish council plan to remove thousands of concrete blocks from Beach Greden and crush them on site.

People voted overwhelmingly in favour of pursuing a second option, including importing topsoil, regrading the areas where the blocks are showing and either seeding or turfing the surface.

The referendum saw a landslide victory of 513 votes to 11.
