King Offa team works together with a will

THE aroma of caretaker Terry Cutting's bacon butties and hot dogs wafted enticingly through the foyer as supporters arrived at the King Offa School Association Christmas Fair.

The proceeds of the fair were all going to for the good of the school and pupils, parents and staff were united in the cause on Saturday.

Both assembly halls were packed with stalls and bargain'”hunters jostled in their efforts not to miss the best.

Father Christmas was in his grotto and all was right with the world.

Opportunities to spend money included a raffle for a giant hamper, face-painting, a card game, bottle tombola and book stalls book stall.

Pupils had turned out their toy cupboards in anticipation of a good Christmas and had helped fill the toy stall. Generous parents had donated new toys.

There was both an adults' raffle and a children's version, plus a children's tombola.

Former pupils Kat Jenner and Sophie Driver, now at Bexhill High, had returned to run a nail-painting stall.

Association chairman Jane Jenner: "Lots of businesses have given us vouchers.

"The children have been great. Yesterday, they had a mufti day.

"Our thanks go to staff members who have come in to run stalls, to patents for their support and to the pupils."

The fair raised 1,700.
