CHURCH NEWS: After the pause in the fasting during Lent, when all sorts of naughties were allowed because it was Refreshment Sunday as well as Mothering Sunday, we now have the very solemn Sundays ahead of us. This coming Sunday is Passion Sunday. The 9.30am service will be Parish Eucharist, led by Rev. Canon Robin Whitehead

EASTER LILIES: You have just a little time left now to order lilies from Janet Pegg - 814 735 or Christine Overy, - 814 927. They cost £2 for each name remembered, and the flowers are used in the decoration of the church at Easter.

LENT LUNCH: There will be another Lent Lunch in the Memorial Hall today at 12. 30 pm. Come along to meet your friends and enjoy home-made soup, a selection of cheeses and coffee, with donations to charity.

WEATHER: Just when it should be getting warmer, the weather is having a reverse effect and becoming colder. The arctic winds are certainly reducing the temperatures at the moment. But the birds must know something we don’t, because they are beginning to sing spring songs.

QUEEN’S HEAD: The live music on Sunday will be played by Jem Turpin and Jez Walker, playing Rock ‘n’ Blues. There will be a Quiz on Wednesday 16th from 8.30 pm. The question this time is “Which sea is the only sea without shores?”

MARATHON: If you have not had the opportunity to send/give a donation to Ian for “running” the Hastings half marathon, you have a little time to make good that omission. It takes place on Sunday 20th March, and Ian is collecting for St. Michael’s Hospice. Loose change or spare notes may be left at the Queen’s Head in Icklesham or The Royal Oak in Pett. Or, if you prefer, go to Justgiving and look for IAN-MITCHELL27 and follow the instructions.
