The free jam, put on by Angmering Parish Council for the second time, was held at Mayflower Park, in Angmering, and this year saw skateboarders take part in the jam.
Judges from Live and Breathe Skateboarding, a non-profit skateboarding brand, coordinated the Bowl Jam, while Brighton BMX Co, a store which sells all the BMX gear, found on Baker Street in Brighton, managed the BMX time trial races.

She added: “It was nice to have families present with some dads taking part in the BMX time trials with their children, making it a family day and we would like to say a special thanks to Angmering Sports And Social Club for supplying volunteers to assist with the setting up on the day.” Competitors were able to register on the day and a total of 43 bikes competed in the BMX time trials with the youngest being age four and oldest 46.
The races were spilt into four categories with first, second and third prizes for each and the Skate Jam was split into two categories, with over 16s and under 16s competing in the event. For those not competing, there was a free bouncy castle and face painting – plus many cakes and sweets to indulge in.
The Sussex Safer Roads Partnership attended and gave visitors advice. The Partnership is made up of Brighton & Hove City Council, East and West Sussex County Councils, Highways England, East and West Fire and Rescue Service and Sussex Police, who work to reduce road casualties.
