Homecall appeal for volunteers

Homecall is the home visiting scheme for blind and partially sighted people in Bexhill and the immediate surrounding area.

The charity was until a year ago available across the county but the service had to be reduced because of a funding crisis and only survived thanks to the generosity of organisations and residents who responded to the fundraising appeal led by the Bexhill Observer.

Now Homecall organiser Jenny Private is leading another appeal - she is asking for new volunteers to step forward so that Homecall can continue its valuable work.

Jenny said: "Homecall would like to ask for your support again.

"The call on the scheme for support by Blind and Partially Sighted people living in our town continues and there is a constant need to recruit new volunteers.

"Following the higher profile of last year Homecall was fortunate to attract a few new volunteers who have all now been utilised.

"If you have an hour a week you can spare and would consider helping someone with a visual impairment please contact Jenny Private on 01424 848365.

"Enrolment is quite simple and your help will be highly valued. There is no housework or personal care involved and expenses can be reimbursed. Further information can be found on Homecall's website www.homecall.uk.com.
