The three-bedroom, three-storey cottage, at 28 High Street and chalked for “refurbishment”, sits partly above Belle Flowers florists.

It is being auctioned by Clive Emson Auctioneers at the Hilton Brighton Metropole, Brighton, on Friday, March 27 at 11am

The property, which has a rear garden and living accommodation arranged over three floors, has a guide of £90-110,000, with a 999-year lease.

Emma Sharp, from Emsons, said: “Once refurbished it would be suitable for owner occupation or could be let to provide a good income.”

One of the four largest land and property auction companies in the UK, Clive Emson’s auctioneers are regulars on BBC One’s long-running Homes Under the Hammer series, presented by Lucy Alexander and Martin Roberts.

Last year Clive Emson, with 50 staff, achieved sales of more than £125m from 32 auctions across southern England.
