Help for pooches spooked by fireworks

A group of students are trying to do something to remedy a problem caused by Lewes's fondness for fireworks.

Students from the Sussex Canine Centre's canine behaviour department, on the Cliffe Industrial Estate, are carrying out a study to reduce the anxiety felt by dogs during the firework season.

The group will be carrying out clinics to help the dogs to overcome their fear of fireworks and is looking for some four-legged volunteers.

They also hope to win the support of Lewes bonfire societies to help them with the study.
