The event, sponsored by Steyning Parish Council, takes place at the Steyning Centre on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm.

Arundel and South Downs MP Nick Herbert will be visiting at 3pm to tour the many stalls.

Council clerk Sue Booth said it was a very popular event.

“This event attracts a lot of people and more than 50 organisation, clubs, societies in Steyning will be present,” she added.

The idea is to get everyone together under one roof to show what is available in the town and build on the ‘fantastic community spirit’.

Residents will have the chance to see what is on offer and meet the people involved, with most of the voluntary groups in the town expected to be present.

There is something for everyone, from St Andrew’s Pre-School to Scouts, Steyning in Bloom to Steyning Vintage Years.

There are clubs involved with sport, music, history and horticulture, charity and church groups, plus a whole range of other options.

Parish, district and county councillors will also be on hand to meet residents.

Entry is free and light refreshments will be available.

The last Steyning Showcase was in February 2012, when nearly 600 people went along to the centre, in Fletchers Croft.

The council said it had been hugely successful and ‘once again demonstrated how much Steyning has to offer residents of the town and surrounding areas’.
